Urgent Needs Fund

The Community Foundation for Oceana County (CFOC) has established an Urgent Needs Fund to provide support to area nonprofit organizations, schools and governments on the front lines serving those most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.  We recognize that we are in unchartered waters – the length and depth of our collective hardships are unknown. We do know that our foundation is here for the long haul and that community needs will expand and evolve through this situation. Our goal is to be swift to respond to the basic needs of today, such as food, health, shelter, education, and more!

Nonprofits providing services towards basic needs are encouraged to apply to our Urgent Needs Fund here.

Community Grant Rounds

We give grants to 501(c)(3) organizations, churches, schools, agencies, and governmental units serving the greater Oceana County area. Please review our Grant Guidelines before starting your application. All grant applications will be submitted in our online portal, goApply.  As this is a new grant portal, all applicants will need to create a new username and password.  Below you will find our anticipated schedule for our 2021 grant cycles.

  • Registration
Choose a login name and password to create your user account in GoApply. New this year, multiple people from your organization may work on one application!

    Application of Intent
This provides our staff with an overview of your program that allows them to determine if your project fits CFOC grant priorities, timeline and budget.  Ideally the Application of Intent should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the posted grant deadline, however, we can be flexible.  Give us a call to discuss your proposal.

All organizations submitting an application of intent will be contacted within three business days or sooner. Following staff approval of the application of intent, you may begin working on your full application.

Because of limited financial resources at this time, the Foundation generally makes only one-time grant commitments up to $5,000. Longer term commitments may be considered for initiatives that show exceptional promise for community impact.

    Grant Application
The last step of the process is submission of your detailed proposal, or grant application, for review by our volunteer Grant Review Committee and CFOC staff members. Grantees that desire feedback on their application are invited to submit a full proposal 15 days prior to the deadline. CFOC staff will review the proposal and offer suggestions. All final decisions are made by our Board of Trustees.

If your program is supported with a grant, you will be required to submit a final grant report to share the impact of your project.

Community Grant Application opens Wednesday, September 15th.  Join us for a Lunch and Learn Grant Workshop, sharing our new portal with interested applicants at noon on the 15th!  Find all the information, including the registration, here.
