Oceana Community Foundation Scholarship Application Opens!
The Community Foundation for Oceana County’s scholarship application is now open and accepting applications until March 1, 2023. To be eligible, you must be a resident of Oceana County and a graduate of an Oceana public or private school. Scholarships are available for everyone; graduating seniors, current college students, even those looking to enter an apprenticeship program- everyone should apply!
The Foundation manages the largest scholarship program in our area, with over 52 named funds covering vast criteria. From unrestricted scholarships to those supporting careers in education, agriculture, medicine, business, skilled trades, and more. There is an opportunity for everyone! One general application is shared across all scholarship committees to determine eligibility.
Oceana College Access Network is hosting a FASFA completion night on November 16th at Hart High School from 6-8 pm. Financial aid representatives, counselors, and a Foundation representative will be present to work one on one with students to help them complete the FASFA and scholarship applications. “The FAFSA is a requirement for almost all scholarships and a good first step for opening the door for scholarship awards from the college you plan to attend,” said Hannah Naples, Foundation Program Officer. In 2022 Foundation scholarship awards equated to nearly $270,000 in commitments across 164 Oceana County students! Scholarships are awarded once per year. Recipients will be notified of their award in April and high school students will be recognized at their awards ceremonies in May.
