Announcing the Oceana Foundation’s 2022 Spring Community Grant Round

March 1, 2022 – The Community Foundation for Oceana County announces the opening of their Spring 2022 Community Grant Round. The application opens Friday, March 11th, requests are submitted online at the Foundation’s website and due by April 8th.

The Foundation will host a grant workshop to showcase a new version of their application portal, GoApply. The newly designed portal excels in user-friendly navigation and submission options. The virtual workshop will discuss the Foundation’s grant priorities, portal navigation including how to register, and answer any grantee questions.  To register for the workshop, visit the Foundation’s website here.

The main source of funding for the Foundation’s twice-yearly grant applications is the Community Investment Fund. This unrestricted fund is designed to support emerging critical needs and to support community opportunities as developed. Other sources of grant funding are the Foundation’s Field of Interest Funds, focusing on arts, youth, health, parks, environmental needs and community development projects. The Foundation’s sixty donor-advised fund partners also provide significant funding towards the Community grant rounds. The Foundation also reminds nonprofit organizations that requests are still being accepted via the Urgent Needs Fund application process, to respond to critical human needs.

In the 2021 Community Grant Rounds, the Foundation awarded over $100,000 to area agencies, municipalities, and school districts. Support included mental health services for Oceana school staff provided by Fountain Hill Center for Counseling, a new rehabilitation trailer for Grant Township Firefighters, seed funding for Immigrant Connection’s new site at Hart Wesleyan Church to provide legal services, and much more!  Total grants and scholarships from all Foundation Funds totaled $944,407 in 2021, breaking the record established in 2020. The Foundation is accepting applications now through April 8th.  A Letter of Intent will be due two weeks prior on March 25th.  Grantees are encouraged to discuss your proposal with the Foundation.
